The first of Heather's large canvases, this painting is reminiscent of the Lake Michigan horizon. By layering the more subtle hues on top of brighter colors, she created the iridescence that shines when the sun hits the surface of the water.
This canvas was produced to convey the urban experience of the city of Chicago. The city is 2 dimensionally thick. Its infrastructure is a dense weave of transit networks that move people from place to place. Within the ariel weave of this canvas, are human figures. The painting connects the scale of of people to the scale of the city.
